SADDLE RIDGE PCGS/CAC MS62 1892-S $20 AS ISSUED
Saddle Ridge Pedigree.
The Saddle Ridge Hoard contained a total of 178 double eagles dated 1892-S. This included three graded MS65+ which far exceeded any of the non-hoard pieces previously known.
Many of the Saddle Ridge coins were broken out of their original holders as the grading by PCGS was very conservative, especially on the coins graded MS63 and MS64. This fact, combined with collector popularity, means that their are not many opportunities to buy a Saddle Hoard double eagle in its original packaging.
This bright, attractive piece would grade at least MS63 if not higher were it not for a fresh scratch on the cheek which is likely from the excavation process.
Here is an affordable Saddle Ridge double eagle which is accompanied by its original packaging.
PLEASE ADD $25 FOR EXPRESS MAIL SHIPPING ON THIS COIN DUE TO THE SIZE AND WEIGHT OF ITS PRESENTATION BOX.
