CHOICE CAC APPROVED PCGS EF45 1847-C HALF EAGLE

Variety-2.

If I had to choose a “picture perfect” example of a Charlotte half eagle in EF45, it would be this coin. The surfaces show attractive deep, original green-gold color with some dirt in the protected areas. There are a few small marks seen here and there but you’d be hard-pressed to find many EF45 Charlotte half eagles of any date that show the eye appeal that this piece does.

An NGC graded EF45 with CAC approval recently sold for $2,640 as Heritage 2/18: 5749. The most recent sale for a PCGS EF45 was for $2,457 for a non-CAC piece in the Bonham's 9/17 auction.

If you are a collector seeking an affordable entry-level Charlotte half eagle, you would be hard-pressed to locate a more charismatic piece than this.

CAC has approved 8 in this grade with 15 finer.
