GEM SLIDER NGC/CAC AU58 1882-CC HALF EAGLE
The 1882-CC half eagle can be easily located in grades up through AU58 but it scarce in Uncirculated and almost never seen choicer than MS61 to MS62.
This is among the finest 1882-CC half eagles I have seen graded AU58 and I have seen inferior pieces graded MS61. It is 100% original with rich dusky golden hues over lightly abraded, lustrous surfaces.
The last two NGC/CAC AU58 examples of this date to sell at auction brought $5,875 (this coin) and $4,230 (Heritage 7/16: 4008).
A premium quality 1882-CC destined for a savvy specialist's set of CC half eagles.
