ONE OF ONLY TWO 1890-CC HALF EAGLES WITH A CAC GOLD STICKER
Housed in an old PCGS holder and a solid MS61 by today's standards.
The 1890-CC is one of just four CC half eagles made during the 1890s, the final decade of production for this mint. It is comparable in overall rarity to the 1892-CC and 1893-CC, and considerably harder to locate than the 1891-CC.
This is a choice, original coin with pleasing luster and a definite lack of wear on the high spots. It is undipped and unadulterated which in and of itself makes it unusual for this issue.
This is one of only two only 1890-CC half eagles to have received the coveted gold sticker from CAC indicating that it is undergraded in their opinion. The other known example grades just EF40.
A great coin with all the "bells and whistles" one could hope for.
