PCGS AU58 1844-D HALF EAGLE
The 1844-D is among the most available half eagles from this mint. It is seen from time to time in AU58 although pieces which have natural color and choice surfaces are very scarce.
This piece has extensive surface abrasions and lacks much in the way of luster. The strike is very sharp.
Since the start of 2017, there have been eight APRs for this date in PCGS AU58 including this coin (see below). Prices have ranged from a low of $4,200 to a high of $7,975.
Ex Goldberg 9/2019: 1212 where it brought $5,280.
