SCARCE 1899-O EAGLE IN PCGS/CAC MS62
The 1899-O is the scarcest single date in the popular 1888-O to 1906-O date run of New Orleans eagles. The 1899-O is scarce in properly graded MS62, rare in MS63 and very rare in MS64 and above. Most of the coins graded MS62 and excessively abraded and low end for the grade.
This lustrous example show attractive natural orange-gold color which is correct for the issue. It shows marks in the left obverse field which are consistent with the assigned grade. Most importantly, this piece hasn't been dipped or enhanced.
No PCGS MS62 1899-O eagle has sold at auction.
A nice piece for the With Motto eagle collector or the New Orleans specialist.
