COLLECTOR GRADED PCGS/CAC VF30 1875-CC $10, ex Fairmont
The 1875-CC is as scarce as its small mintage of 7,715 would suggest. I would estimate that close to 90% of the slabbed pieces for this issue in VF and EF grades are very low end due to cleaning and/or mishandling.
This is a 100% original example with strong claims to a higher grade. Some marks are seen on the obverse while the reverse is cleaner and choice.
Heritage 2023 ANA: 3893 was graded VF35 by PCGS/CAC and it sold for $10,500 yet it was less original and less choice than the example I am offering here.
If you could even locate a nice CAC approved EF40 or 45 1875-CC eagle, you are looking at a $20k+ purchase.
CAC has approved this one coin in VF30 with nine finer.
Ex Stacks Bowers 4/2024: 6167 where it sold for $9,900, Fairmont Hoard
