CHOICE PCGS MS63 1894-O $10

This is a scarce date in properly graded MS63 and it is very rare issue in any grade higher. Just three finer 1894-O eagles have been graded by PCGS with two in MS63+ as well as a single MS64.

This coin, in my opinion, has been net graded as an MS63 on account of a faint min-made lamination that bisects the 8 in the date. Other than this, the naked-eye appearance is among the best I have seen for this date which typically is densely abraded. The color is a bland of dramatic medium orange-gold hues with rich underlying green-gold splashes.

Since early 2018, just three have sold at auction: a nice PCGS/CAC at $9,000 in 4/2022 and two non-CAC coins.

If you must own a better 1894-O eagles than this, be prepared to wait a decade or more and to pay a 5x multiple of the current MS63 price.
