The 1860 is one of the scarcer pre-Civil War Liberty Head eagles from Philadelphia with fewer than 200 survivors known from a mintage of just 15,055 coins.
This bright yellow-gold example shows good luster for the grade.
A pair of PCGS AU50 1860 eagles were auctioned in January 2013 and they brought $2,115 and $2,585, respectively.
