PCGS/CAC MS63 1903-O EAGLE

Variety 1.

The 1903-O is one of just four Liberty Head eagles from New Orleans which was struck during the 20th century. It is very common in MS60 to MS62 but scarce in properly graded MS63 and rare above this.

What marks this coin has are limited to the obverse and these are not especially deep or detracting. Both sides are frosty and show nice natural rose, green-gold and orange hues.

The last CAC approved MS63 1903-O eagle to sell at auction was an NGC piece which brought $2,820 as Heritage 2/14: 5460. A PCGS MS63 with CAC approval sold for a strong $4,553 as Heritage 9/13: 5366; it was in an old green label holder.

A perfect type coin for the collector who wants a single high grade With Motto eagle from the New Orleans mint.

CAC has approved 17 in this grade with just four finer.
