Variety 13-H.
The 1845-D is another date which, like the 1843-D and the 1844-D, can be located in the higher circulated grades without a great amount of difficulty. It is definitely scarcer than those two issues in AU58.
This piece is a bit better than average for the grade with a considerable amount of luster seen below splashes of orange-gold. The surfaces show scattered abrasions with the most noticeable located on the reverse above the eagle’s beak.
Since July 2012 there have been five pieces sold at auction, including this piece (see below for more information). The prices have ranged from a low of $3,720 (6/2020) to a high of $5,463 (7/2012).
