PCGS MS63 1893 DOUBLE EAGLE
The 1893 double eagle is common through MS63. It becomes scarce in MS64 and only three have been graded higher than this: one MS65 each at PCGS and NGC and a solitary MS67(!) at NGC.
This extremely flashy piece would almost certainly grade at least MS64 were it not for some scuffs in the left obverse field and a thin mark on Liberty's cheek.
Average quality PCGS MS63 examples of this date typically sell at auction in the $1,900-2,000 range.
This is a very PQ coin for the grade in an older holder which would make a nice, affordable type example.
