PCGS AU58 1883-CC DOUBLE EAGLE
The 1883-CC is among the more available Type Three double eagles from Carson City which makes it popular with type and date collectors alike. It is available in grades up through MS62 but its high cost in Uncirculated makes nice AU58 coins very much in demand.
The slightly reflective example is well detailed and lightly worn with rich yellow-gold hues on the obverse and the reverse. A few marks can be seen in the fields and these are in keeping with the assigned grade.
The last three APR's for this date in AU58 are $8,400 (11/17), $8,519 (8/17) and $9,106 (7/17).
