The 1895-O eagle is common in MS60 through MS62 but it is scarce in MS63 and unknown above this level.
This choice, frosty example was likely located in Europe as this appears to be the source for most of the nicer 1895-O eagles. It shows fewer marks than normal and the color is an attractive deep, natural orange-gold with some lime shadings at the borders.
No CAC approved MS63 examples of this date have sold at auction. An NGC MS63 last sold for $6,463 as Stacks Bowers 2016 ANA: 2396.
An essentially unimprovable example for the advanced New Orleans eagle collector.
CAC has approved four in this grade with none finer.
