AFFORDABLE 1874-CC EAGLE GRADED EF40 BY PCGS

The 1874-CC is the most available Carson City from the 1870's. It is in demand in VF and EF grades as nice AU pieces have become expensive and difficult to locate.

This is a modestly worn example with nice skin seen below soft russet toning. Both sides are a bit scuffy (hence the grade) but there is evident luster and the overall eye appeal is excellent.

No PCGS EF40 1874-CC eagle has sold at auction since March 2005. A PCGS EF45 example of this date realized $6,463 as Stacks Bowers 2016 ANA: 3370.

Locating an affordable 1874-CC eagle is a challenge, especially one as nice as the present coin.
