The 1883-CC half eagle is scarce in properly graded AU58, and it is rare in full MS60 and finer. PCGS has a current population of eight Uncirculated coins with the single finest an MS63 which realized $96,000 in the Heritage 2022 sale.
This golden-yellow slider has an excellent appearance due to its great strike and nearly full luster.
Two different PCGS/CAC AU58 1883-CC half eagles sold at auction in 2023. One brought $14,100 and $14,400 (it was offered twice), while a second also realized $14,000.
This issue is very rare and very expensive finer than this.
