PCGS AU58 1884-CC DOUBLE EAGLE WITH CAC APPROVAL
There are literally hundreds of AU58 examples known of this date but it is unlikely if more than 20% of these 1884-CC double eagles are nice enough for eventual CAC approval.
This is a textbook AU58 with nearly full luster, just the slightest wear which is limited to the high spots and nice natural rose and yellow-gold colors. The surfaces are very lightly marked and this is really a premium example for the grade.
A non-CAC AU58 1884-CC double eagle sold for $8,225 as Heritage 1/17: 7169.
A great type coin for the collector seeking a choice Type Three double eagle from Carson City.
