This is a desirable issue as it is the first eagle struck at the brand new San Francisco mint. It is common in AU grades but only a small percentage of those coins graded as such are choice and original.
This coin looks to me like it could just as easily have graded AU55. It is a pleasing light green-gold hue with good detail and very choice surfaces.
No CAC approved PCGS AU50 or AU53 has ever sold at auction. Ordinary quality non-CAC AU50 pieces typically sell for $1,500 or so when available.
CAC has approved seven in this grade with 30 finer.
