NGC AU58 1838-O DIME
This is the very first dime struck at the newly-opened New Orleans mint. It is a popular one-year type and it represents the only mintmarked No Stars dime.
This example was struck from dies which show a good deal of stress and as a result, the texture of the fields is grainy from metal flow. The obverse has rings of deep purple and green-gold framing an untoned center; the reverse is white at the center with dark purple hues framing this.
The last two APRs for NGC AU58 1838-O dimes are $1,800 (3/2021) and $1,710 (3/2020).
