This is the second-to-last Carson City eagle and it is many times scarcer than the ubiquitous 1891-CC. Nice AU 1892-CC eagles are not easy to find as most have been stripped.
This lustrous example is well-detailed with nice lemon-gold central color framed by some reddish hues at the obverse border. The surfaces are choice for the grade.
The last PCGS AU53 1892-CC eagle to sell at auction was a non-CAC piece which brought $1,704 as Stacks Bowers 2/14: 3247.
Nice quality for under $2,000.
