COMICALLY UNDERGRADED NGC/CAC MS61 1874 $3 WITH A GOLD STICKER

This coin was graded very early on in NGC’s entry into the coin grading game, and I grade it at least MS63 to MS63+ (or better) by today’s standards. The overall look is very much like a Gem with great color and frost. A small mint-made copper spot just past the D in UNITED serves as identification.

For the date, here are just three 1874 Threes with gold sticker of which this coin is the single finest. For the entire type there are total of 35 with eight in Uncirculated including two in MS61, three in MS62 and two in MS63 with none finer.
