"TEXTBOOK" SLIDER AU58 1875-CC TWENTY DOLLARS
The 1875-CC is one of the two more available Type Two CC double eagles. There are many known in the AU58 but probably not more than 10% of these are CAC quality..
This is a textbook example of a gem AU58 Type Two double eagle with nearly full luster, lovely natural orange-gold color and extremely choice surfaces. I find this coin to be much superior to many 1875-CC double eagles graded MS61.
Surprisingly, no CAC approved AU58 1875-CC double eagles have sold at auction for some time. A nice non-CAC PCGS AU58 sold for $8,225 as Heritage 2016 ANA: 6043.
This is an ideal type coin for the collector who wants a very choice Type Two CC double eagle priced at less than $10,000.
CAC has approved 28 in this grade with 42 finer.
