CAC APPROVED PCGS AU55 1880-CC HALF EAGLE
The 1880-CC is one of the more available Carson City half eagles from the 1880′s. It is, however, scarcer than the 1882-CC and it is not an easy issue to find in properly graded AU55.
This frosty orange-gold example is well defined with slightly choicer than average surfaces. A few ticks can be seen in the obverse fields and on the cheek while the reverse is clean.
Stacks Bowers 3/17: 2434 was also a CAC approved PCGS AU55 and it realized $4,465.
CAC has approved 8 in this grade with 6 finer.
