Housed in an old green label holder and a nice AU53 or finer by today's standards, in my opinion.
This popular variety is characterized by noticeable doubling on the ear lobe of Liberty. The coin itself is choice and original with good luster, nice orange-gold color and pleasing surfaces.
Only three 1854 half eagles have been awarded Gold stickers by CAC and all are in this offering.
For the date, CAC has approved 7 with 44 finer. 3 have been given Gold stickers: 2 in EF45 and 1 in AU50.
