BORDERLINE GEM 1910 EAGLE WITH CAC APPROVAL
The 1910 is one of the more available dates of this design in MS64 to MS65 grades but it is many times more scarce in this range than the 1926 and the 1932.
This borderline Gem was likely sourced from Europe as it shows rich natural color which is accentuated by deeper highlights on the relief details. The lustrous surfaces show light marks and the eye appeal is excellent.
The last NGC MS64+ 1910 eagle with CAC approval to sell at auction brought $2,938 as Heritage 4/14: 6704.
This would make an excellent type coin for the collector who desires a nice Indian Head eagle but who would prefer a more interesting date than the ubiquitous 1926 or 1932.
In MS64, CAC has approved 43 with 36 finer; this figure includes a small number of MS64+ coins.
