At one time this date was rare in MS62 but today examples exist in this grade due to overseas hoards. Most seen in this grade are choppy and they lack originality.
This clean, lustrous example is notable for its soft orange-gold and rose colors and its uncommonly mark-free surfaces.
The last two non-CAC PCGS MS62 1894-O eagles to sell at auction realized $1,528 and $1,645 and were way inferior to this piece.
I've seen many inferior MS63 examples trade for more than double the price of this high-end MS62.
