THE NEWMAN 1890-CC EAGLE
The 1890-CC is more available than its mintage figure of 17,500 would suggest due to examples being repatriated from overseas sources during the last few decades. It is seen most often in the AU55 to MS62 range and not often with natural color and surfaces.
This semi-prooflike slider is characterized nice natural color which is deepest at the upper obverse border. Some light scuffs in the fields are likely the result of bag handling and the minimal wear is localized on the obverse high spots.
An NGC AU58 with CAC approval sold for $3,173 as Heritage 10/16: 4616.
CAC has approved 11 in this grade with 29 finer.
