NICE AU 1892-CC DOUBLE EAGLE
The 1892-CC is the second-to-last double eagle made at the Carson City mint and it is similar in overall rarity to the 1890-CC. It tends to be well-made and this makes it a popular type coin.
This yellow-gold example is lustrous and shows light wear with moderately abraded surfaces and good overall detail seen on both sides.
The last two APR's for this date in PCGS AU53 are $4,230 in early 2015 for a coin which was covered with black spots and $4,406 in mid-2014 for a coin with obverse damage.
A nice, affordable coin which is perfect for a type set.
