RARE PCGS MS61 1893-CC EAGLE

Fewer than a dozen Uncirculated 1893-CC eagles exist and all are in the MS60 to MS62 range. This is a numismatically significant issue as it is the final year in which the Carson City mint produced coins.

This fresh-to-the-market example is unquestionably "new" with no wear seen on the high spots and full luster in the fields. The rich yellow-gold surfaces are totally free of marks and this is among the most cosmetically appealing 1893-CC eagles which I have seen or sold.

The last PCGS MS61 to sell at auction brought $18,800 as Heritage 1/14: 6928 while an NGC MS61PL realized a strong $19,388 as Heritage 1/15: 7241.

If you are putting together an Condition Census quality Carson City eagle set, this is potentially an important coin for your consideration.
