CHOICE UNCIRCULATED 1851-O GOLD DOLLAR

The 1851-O is a common date in the five coin Type One run of gold dollars from New Orleans. Properly graded MS63 examples are moderately scarce and this date becomes hard to find in finer levels of preservation.

This sharply struck piece is clean for the grade with no appreciable marks over the frosty orange and green-gold surfaces.

The last PCGS MS63 1851-O gold dollar to sell at auction realized $1,645 as Stacks Bowers 11/16: 3001.

Excellent value at well under $2,000.
