NICE UNCIRCULATED 1891-CC EAGLE

CC/CC variety; not designated by PCGS.

The 1891-CC is the most common Carson City eagle by a sizable margin. As it tends to be very well made, it is popular with collectors who want one nice piece for type purposes.

While this example is too scuffy to grade MS63, it is really pleasing for the grade with blasty luster beneath natural splashes of deep golden orange color. Most Uncirculated 1891-CC eagles have been dipped but this piece has vivid, unmolested surfaces.

The last three PCGS MS62 APR's for this issue range from a low of $2,585 to a high of $2,820.

The next grade up will cost you more than 2x the amount that you'll pay for this nice MS62 and to my mind, the saved money can be better spent.
