CHOICE SLIDER 1849 EAGLE
This is an historically significant issue as it was made during the famous Gold Rush year. The 1849 eagle is not a common date in AU58 and the vast majority of those in 58 holders have been dipped or processed.
This fresh-to-the-market example shows lovely natural orange-gold color which is a bit more intense on the obverse. It is well struck and lustrous with the appearance of an MS61 and now readily discernible wear.
No CAC approved AU58 1849 eagle has sold at auction in recent years.
No Motto eagles of this quality at less than $2,000 represent excellent value, in my opinion.
CAC has approved eight in this grade with eight finer.
