CHOICE COLLECTOR GRADE 1846-O HALF EAGLE
The 1846-O is a scarcer date in terms of overall rarity than its 1846-dated counterparts from Charlotte and Dahlonega yet it sells for a significant discount.
This coin seems awfully nice for the assigned grade and if offered to me raw I would call it a "solid 35, shot 40." It has wonderful natural color, good detail and choice surfaces.
This seems like exceptional value and it gives the collector on a limited budget the opportunity to own a really nice 1846-O half eagle.
CAC has approved just one in this grade with fifteen finer.
