There are as many as 100 examples of the 1890-CC eagle known in Uncirculated with the majority in the MS60 to MS62 range. The price jumps considerably from MS61 to MS62 and given the lack of significant differences between the two grades, MS61's seem like better value to me.
This frosty, undipped coin is free of wear or luster breaks and has lovely natural yellow-gold color which deepens at the inner borders. A few scuffs in the obverse fields limit the grade but I have seen inferior 1890-CC eagles in MS62 holders.
The last three APR's for non-CAC 1890-CC eagles in PCGS MS61 range from a low of $4,230 in December 2015 to a high of $4,935 in June 2015.
Good value at under $5,000 and a perfect CC type coin for the collector seeking one choice eagle from this popular mint.
