WELL-STRUCK NGC AU50 1883-CC EAGLE

Variety 2-C.

If one Carson City eagle from this decade can be called overlooked it is the 1883-CC. This issue is not often seen in the lower AU grades with decent surfaces and a sharp strike and it is legitimately scarce in A55 and above.

This slightly prooflike example is solid for the grade with natural russet color over somewhat abraded surfaces. For the variety, the strike is slightly above-average and the eye appeal is good.

Only one coin (this exact piece) graded AU50 by either service has appeared at auction since early 2012.

Great value for the savvy specialist.

Ex Heritage 10/15:172 where it brought $3,055.
