AFFORDABLE 1840 EAGLE WITH CAC APPROVAL
The 1840 is the first issue ofthis denomination which exclusively employs the revised Liberty head design. It is not an especially scarce date but most seen are very heavily abraded and are bright from having been dipped.
This is a very choice coin for the grade with no severe abrasions, natural russet color and good overall definition at the centers and borders.
Stacks Bowers sold a PCGS EF45 for $2,115 as Lot 3294 in their 2016 ANA auction and this was the first PCGS graded example in a 45 holder to sell since the end of 2013.
Excellent value at well under $2,000!
