The 1892-S is only moderately scarce in the lowest Uncirculated grades. It becomes scarce in properly graded MS63, it is rare in MS64 and was formerly excessively rare in MS65.
This hand selected Saddle Ridge Hoard 1892-S double eagle has remarkable luster and nice rich yellow-gold color. It would easily grade MS63–if not MS64–were it not for some light luster breaks in the right obverse field.
These were priced at $4,350 in the original offering; I was able to choose this (and a small number of other pieces) before they were placed on the market.
This coin is accompanied by an original box of issue, a booklet and a certificate of authenticity.
