The 1892-CC is the second-to-last double eagle made at the popular Carson City mint. It is one of the most available dates from this facility and, along with the 1890-CC, it is the most available from this decade. As with all Carson City double eagles, it becomes hard to locate and expensive in any Uncirculated grade.
This piece is clean for the grade with no serious marks and good luster. It would likely grade AU55 were it not for a small patch of lines just to the left of the tip of Liberty’s neck.
