The 1891-CC is by far the most available Carson City half eagle. For most collectors, a nice MS62 is the best value grade for the issue as a PCGS/CAC MS63 jumps in price to $3,500-4,000.
The typical MS62 example of this date is heavily abraded and this piece is much cleaner than normal with just a few scattered marks seen in the fields. There is full frosty luster and nice natural yellow-gold, rose and greenish color.
CAC approved MS62 1891-CC half eagles typically bring in the $2,000-2,500 range at auction.
