Type Two reverse.
The 1877-CC is one of three common Seated Dimes from this mint and it is among the more available minor denomination issues from the fabled Carson City mint. Gems are available from time to time but not often with superb original color and choice surfaces.
The stunningly toned examples shows splashes of multi-colored toning atop a frosty obverse; the reverse is prooflike and it has a white center framed by a ring of deep color at the border. The strike is hammered with full details on both sides and the surfaces are clean. The eye appeal suggests a higher grade than MS65 and this is a really great looking CC dime.
There are no recent auction records for a PCGS/CAC example of this date in MS65.
An affordable and really exquisite Carson City dime.
