The 1852-O quarter eagle is comparable in overall rarity to the 1850-O and 1851-O but it is slightly more available in higher grades. The 1852-O is scarce in properly graded AU58 and rare in Uncirculated with fewer than 15-20 known, mostly in the MS60 to MS61 range.
The frosty slider has a smidge of wear seen on the high spots of the obverse, otherwise it would grade MS61 or higher. The color is a natural straw-gold while the strike is better than average for the issue; the surfaces are very clean with no detracting marks noted.
Three PCGS AU58 1852-O quarter eagles were sold at auction in 2014 and these sold for $1,998, $2,585 and $2,115, respectively.
