After a five year hiatus, production of Liberty Head eagles resumed at the New Orleans mint. The 1888-O is only moderately scarce in MS62 but it is very scarce in MS63 and currently unique in MS64.
This semi-prooflike example exhibits attractive deep yellow-gold hues with slightly contrasting relief details. The surfaces are clean for the grade and I have seen inferior 1888-O eagles in MS63 holders.
The last CAC approved MS62 1888-O eagle to sell at auction was an NGC coin which realized $1,645 as Heritage 4/14: 6650
