The 1849-C is one of the more common pre-1850 half eagles from the Charlotte mint. It can be found in EF grades with relative ease.
This green-gold example shows even wear and reasonably clean surfaces. It doesn’t show much luster but there is enough wing and feather detail to suggest a higher grade.
The last PCGS EF45 example of this date to sell at auction was ex Heritage 3/13: 4227 which brought $2,350. That coin was CAC approved.
An affordable but nice looking Charlotte half eagle.
