COLLECTOR GRADE CAC APPROVED 1840-C QUARTER EAGLE

The 1840-C is numismatically significant as the first year of issue for quarter eagles from the Charlotte mint. This date is seen most often in the VF and EF grades and not often with natural color and choice surfaces.

This is a nice EF coin which has been net graded by the presence of a shallow old dig above the corner of Liberty's eye. The color is a pleasing natural green-gold and the surfaces are clean and choice.

The only PCGS VF35 1840-C quarter eagle to sell at auction since 2005 realized $1,950 in DLRC's 4/16 event. It was not CAC approved.

This is the only VF35 to be approved by CAC; 19 finer have been stickered to date.
