PCGS AU58+ 1844-O HALF EAGLE
The 1844-O is the most available No Motto New Orleans and it is one of the best made which makes it popular with type collectors as well as seven-mint Liberty Head half eagle assemblers.
This Gem slider could have easily graded MS61 as it has a "new" appearance with nice color, strong luster and pleasing surfaces. A few small ticks on Liberty's cheek and in the left field are mentioned for accuracy.
No AU58+ 1844-O half eagle has ever sold at auction. Only one PCGS AU58 has sold since the Summer of 2011 and it realized $1,880 in January 2017.
