The 1850-O is comparable in overall rarity to the 1851-O and 1852-O quarter eagles. It is somewhat scarcer in higher grades and most seen in AU55 and AU58 holders are marginal at best.
Were this example a bit better struck at the centers, it would have graded AU58 and it is notable for its natural color and its immaculate surfaces.
Only two PCGS AU55's have sold at auction since 2007 and neither were CAC approved.
Good quality for the date and grade and excellent value at under $2,000.
