VERY SCARCE CAC APPROVED AU55 1841-C HALF EAGLE

The 1841-C half eagle is an issue which can be located with ease in VF-EF grades and sometimes in the lower AU range. It is very scarce in properly graded AU55 and it is almost never seen with natural color and choice surfaces.

This green-gold example has rich reddish accents on both the obverse and the reverse. The 1841-C always shows wide rims which give it appeal and on this coin they frame very choice original surfaces with just a few minor handling marks. The strike is above average and the overall visual appeal is well above average for the issue.

Two low-end non-CAC NGC AU55 1841-C half eagles were sold in the last two years (one in 2015 and the other in 2016) and they both realized $4,230. No CAC approved AU55 has ever crossed the block.

An exceptional example of this conditionally scarce early date Charlotte half eagle.

CAC has approved 4 in this grade with 5 finer.
