COLLECTOR GRADE 1847-C QUARTER EAGLE
The 1847-C is the single most available quarter eagle struck at the Charlotte mint. This makes it relatively affordable and ideal for type purposes.
This coin is close to EF40 but it has been net graded down to VF25 due to some concentrated wear on the hair of Liberty. The color is a pleasing natural deep russet hue and there are no detracting marks.
The last VF25 example of this issue to sell at auction realized $1,380 as Heritage 5/07: 2163; the coin was slabbed by NGC.
A nice entry-level Charlotte quarter eagle.
