COLLECTOR GRADE 1843-C LARGE DATE QUARTER EAGLE

Large Date variety; designated by NGC.

The 1843-C Large Date is among the more available quarter eagles from Charlotte but it is not easy to locate affordable examples which are choice and original.

This Choice VF was struck from a rotated reverse die and this has slightly weakened the feather detail on the eagle. The surfaces show deep natural russet color and there is dirt caked into the recesses.

The last VF35 example to sell at auction was an NGC piece which realized $1,438 back in 2005.
