Only three With Motto half eagles were made at the New Orleans mint. The 1893-O is the most common of these but it seldom seen above MS61 and it becomes quite scarce in properly graded MS63.
This frosty example has better surfaces than usual for the issue with just a few minor, scattered marks in the fields. It shows a typical strike with some minor weakness at the centers but the overall detail is excellent.
Only three PCGS MS62′s have been sold at auction since the beginning of 2012 and none were as choice, in my opinion, as this one.
